New Delhi, Feb 13, On a heady evening, Russia's cultural extravagance unfolded in a riot of colours and a kaleidoscope of images as ''The Year of Russia in India'' took off in a brilliant show of its traditional folk music and dances, entrancing ballets and soulful theatrical performances.
It was also a wind-swept evening of benumbing cold, but the high-voltage performance by some 300 members of the Russian troupe ensured a triumph of sensibility over the elements.
