Glastonbury Music Festival
The Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and The Who will headline this year's Glastonbury music festival. The full-line up, confirmed the three bands will take to the Pyramid Stage at the three-day summer extravaganza, which runs from June 22 to 24.
Over 200 acts will take part in the world famous event, including Amy Winehouse, The Gossip, Rufus Wainwright, Lily Allen, The Magic Numbers, Chemical Brothers, Kaiser Chiefs and Dame Shirley Bassey.
Michael Eavis, organiser and owner of the Somerset farm where the festival takes place, insists after a year's absence Glastonbury 2007 will "surpass" all expectations.
Kasabian, The Fratellis, Bloc Party, The Kooks and the Manic Street Preachers will all perform on the festival's main Pyramid Stage. Bjork, Arcade Fire, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, The Coral, Editors and Babyshambles are to play the second Other Stage.
Hot Chip, The Twang and The Gossip will take to the John Peel Stage. This year's acts will play to the biggest audience yet, 177,500 fans. The extended capacity was agreed as part of a new four-year licence for the festival, taking it up to 2010.
Extra measures have also been taken to stop ticket touts from exploiting festival goers. Fans were required to pre-register and provide photo ID in March in order to apply for tickets which went on sale in April.
