On the first day of the second National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI), on May 21st, 06, approximately 25.69 lakh children below five years of age have been administered polio drops through out the state of Haryana during the booth activity.
Haryana Health Minister Ms Kartar Devi while talking to mediapersons after inaugurating the pulse polio campaign in Ambala said that this campaign would continue for another two days through house-to-house activity to trace out an administering polio vaccine to the left out children.
She said more than 38.92 lakhs children would be administered polio drops in this round from May 21 to 23 in the state adding that special attention was being paid to slums, far flung areas, isolated hutments, brick kilns and floating or migrating population of the State.
Kumari Selja, Union Minister for State for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation and Mr Phool Chand Mullana, Education Minister also accompanied the Health Minister in inaugurating this campaign by administering polio vaccine to children.
