Govt. schools with 50% women teachers
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) In order to encourage education of girls, the Government is planning to set up schools with at least 50 per cent women teachers, Minister of State for Human Resources M A A Fatmi told the Lok Sabha today.
;Mr Fatmi told the Lower House during the question hour that 48 districts had been identified in the country where the number of school dropouts was high and several steps initiated to check this trend.
Responding to supplementaries, Mr Fatmi said about 74 per cent of the school dropouts were from the Government schools.
The minister said the five states which account for over 50 per cent of the school dropouts were West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
He said all out efforts were being initiated to provide toilets in schools.
