GM launches Chevrolet Aveo U-VA
New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) General Motors (GM) India, today launched the 1.2 litre petrol 'Chevrolet Aveo U-VA' in three variants at a price range of Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 4.79 lakh.
The hatchback with the variants -- Chevrolet Aveo U-VA-1.2, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA-1.2LS and Chevrolet Aveo U-VA-1.2LT at Rs 3.99 lakh, Rs 4.39 lakh and Rs 4.79 lakh (all ex-showroom Delhi) respectively -- will be available at retail outlets from the next week.
The Aveo U-VA is already a global product sold in Europe, North America and other parts of Asia Pacific.
''It has been re-engineered for India in order to meet the specific needs of local consumers as well as local driving conditions like its engine which has been imported from Poland,'' said GM India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba.
The car with variant colours (except white), targets to reach 20,000 units by Q2 next year, added Mr Chaba.
The Aveo U-VA shares a common platform with the Chevrolet Aveo, introduced in March this year in the country with a wheelbases of 2,480 mm and also some mechanical components.
The U-VA, as a hatchback provides big space, different exterior and interior styling with a sporty feel to the customers.
Targeting the youths as well as families, U-VA boasts to be pitted against Maruti's Swift and Hyundai's Getz in its segments with a three-year/one lakh km warranty (whichever comes first).
The company also plans to launch its much-awaited 'Spark' by the Q2 next year.
