Foreign investment from India
New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) With the objective of attracting foreign investment from India to his country, Belgium Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt will pay a six-day official visit to India from November 2.
''This is the first mission of its kind to India, the first time a Prime Minister comes here to attract foreign investment from India to his country, completely in line with India 's emergence as a world power,'' a press release from the Belgium Embassy here said.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Didier Reynders, Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel De Gucht and State Secretary for Administrative Simplification and deputy to the PM Vincent Van Quickenborne.
In addition, an important number of Belgian officials, CEOs and journalists will accompany the delegation.
Besides New Delhi, the Belgium Prime Minister will visit Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai.
In just one year (2005-2006), Indian companies have concluded investment deals with Belgian Companies worth more than 1 billion Euros (or the equivalent of a third or a quarter of India's global incoming investment flows).
