Are Small Dogs More Aggressive?
Most people choose their pets without being knowledgeable about them. If you are getting yourself a dog, you need have some clear concepts. For example, most would be pet owners do not know that is small dogs are more aggressive. They get themselves a cute little dog and expect it to behave like a toy. But most dog experts agree that small dogs are more aggressive than large dogs.
Small dog breeds appear deceptively sweet sometimes. But do not be fooled by their size. Here are some reasons why small dogs are more aggressive.Small Dogs Are More Aggressive Than Large Dogs: Reasons
Size doesn't matter breed does
In most cases, the size of a dog does not have any bearing on its nature. It is the breed that makes a dog aggressive or friendly. For example, Chow Chows are small dog breeds but they are not friendly. The breed of the dog makes it aloof, almost like a cat.

Purpose of breeding
In the ancient times, dogs were bred for a purpose and not just for being pets to human beings. But today, we have forgotten the original cause for their breeding. For example, Dashunds were bred to fight with badgers. That is why they have an elongated body and stunted legs. But we look at the height of the dog and assume it is harmless.
Lapdogs
Most small dogs are used as lapdogs. These dogs bond fiercely with their masters but they recognise only one master. These dogs become obsessively attached to their master and can get jealous very easily. For example, Chihuahuas are tiny but they charge at strangers and even larger dogs that are 10 times their size.
The small dog syndrome
The owner's upbringing also affects the dog's nature. Most tiny dogs suffer from the small dog syndrome. This is because we feel bad about disciplining a small dog. We don't realise when the puppy becomes an adult dog that is stubborn and aggressive. A large dog is never given as much levy as a small one. That is why; nurture plays a crucial role in making small dogs aggressive.
Dog rage
Some dogs have bi-polar personality. They can fly into a rage at one moment and then get back to their passive self in a matter of seconds. While some dog breeds like spaniels are prone to dog rages, it can happen to any dog. Most often we don't expect a small dog to rage and thus, we can be alarmed.
These are some reasons why small dogs tend to be more moody, temperamental and aggressive. But with proper training, you can make a good dog out of any dog breed.
