When you see a dying plant, it leaves you sad especially after the hard effort you have done to grow the plant! All plants have a life and if they die it will be the loss of life nonetheless. It is a noble deed to save a plant. That is why, you must always try to revive a dying plant if you spot one. Think of yourself as a committed doctor who is trying to save a patient on the death bed. Gardeners are also akin to doctors in this case.
But saving a dying plant is not an easy job. Most people just pour water when the see the drying leaves of a plant. Or they try to add extra manure to give the plant nutrition. However, an expert gardener knows that it is very important to know why the plant is dying in the first place.

Parched
If you forget to water a plant for 2 days, it might well get parched dry. But pouring an entire galleon of water into it will not save its life. Water the plant normally. After an hour water it again. You need to spread out the extra water over a period of time so that the plant's roots don't get water logged.
Sun-Stroke
That is true, your plant could also have a sunstroke due to excessive exposure to sunlight. You must bring your plant indoors or cover it with shade if the summer is at its peak. If a plant is sunburn, pluck out the drying leaves. Keep it indoors for sometime, it might grow again from the roots.
Disease
Plants also have infections and diseases like us. If you see that a portion of the plant is rotting away, then you need to prune it immediately. A dying plant can be saved if the infected parts of its body are chopped away.
Pesticides
Pest are one main causes of plants dying untimely death. Most pests are very hard to get rid of unless you can find the right pesticide for them. So first, detect which pest is ailing your plant. Then use the relevant pesticide to give the dying plant another shot at life.
Malnutrition
Sometimes, your plant's growth may be stunted and it may start dying out because it is not getting enough nutrition. Try giving some compost or organic manure to make sure that the plant gets enough nutrients.
