Simple Tips To Grow Lotus Plants Indoor
They bloom with the sunrise, so growing them inside the house is not very easy. Having containers, tub and creating the sufficient environment at home is essential. Take a look at the simple tips to grow lotus plants indoor.
Tips To Grow Lotus plants Indoor:
1.Soak lotus in a plastic container(a large one) with warm water until it produces sprouts and the process would take two weeks.
2.A plastic non draining container is required. A bed of clay (about 3 inches) is filled. The pots need to be as big as 18 inches in diameter and a depth of 6 inches at least.
3.Place the sprouts in container and remove them carefully from the tuber as they can get damaged easily.
4.Add wee drained soil one inch above the tuber carefully so that the sprouts can freely germinate .
5.Add some pea gravel to the top soil and water them. The Water should be Luke warm.
6.Place the pot near the window where the sun rays can enter directly at least for 6 to 8 hours.
7.The temperature should be warm for the flowers to bloom and the air should be above 80 degree Fahrenheit.
8.Being an aquatic plant they must be watered constantly and the level of water should be the same so keeping a check on it every time is essential.
9.Use of lotus fertilizer tablets are very important, they must be fertilized for at least once in two weeks.
10.Place a green netted cloth on the window, this would help in the healthy growth of the Lotus plant.
Growing Lotus plants indoor needs great care. Mini ponds can also be constructed inside home. Growing Lotus plants is believed sacred in India and other Asian countries as it is believed that proper positioning Lotus plants brings prosperity, peace and sereneness to the house.
