Simple Traditional Wall Hanging Ideas

Traditional Wall Hangings & Ideas -
1. Handcrafted Rajasthani Designs – You might have observed the colourful parrot wall hanging. It is quite easy to make.
You Will Require:
1. White or black wool
2. Colourful beads
3. 1 metre bandini cloth
4. Bells (optional)
5. Needle and thread
6. Cotton or sponge
Making A Wall Hanging -
a. Cut the piece of bandini into small triangles (of equal length). Stitch two triangles together and fill a ball of cotton or sponge into it. Draw eyes on one of the corners and stick a few strands of wool for the tail making it appear like a bird.
b. Measure wool according to the door or the window length. Knot one of the ends of the string and insert beads with parrots alternatively. Traditional Rajasthani wall hanging is ready. These wall tapestries look nice with curtains (hung from pelmelts), door and window corners.
2. 3D Wall Art - On a canvas board you can trace any picture. Make a mixture of newspaper pieces, fevicol and water and mould it into the pattern you want. Stick the mould on the board and leave it to dry. Use a fabric paint to colour your 3D wall art.
3. Traditional Wall Hanging 2 – You don't have to discard the cut pieces of the colourful bandini. Use them in patchwork art and stitch them with silk or any glossy thread. You can cover the base cloth completely with coloured bandini pieces, do a little embroidery and stick some mirrors. Traditional patchwork wall hanging (fabric wall hanging) is ready.
