Unwinding at your farmhouse is a something that most of you do during weekends. To relax completely during your stay, give a charming and rustic look to your farmhouse. This includes various areas of your farmhouse including the living room, bedroom, kitchen and last but not the least, the bathroom.

Keeping your farmhouse bathroom design in par with the rest of the farmhouse look is very essential. To do this you have to add a few touches of a traditional bathroom as well as blend in some modernity to give a cool, yet rustic look to your farmhouse bathroom.

Walls: Choose oil paint for your farmhouse bathroom walls. You can opt for pale shades like yellow or pink or even bolder hues like brick-red or earthy tones. Ceilings can be painted with off-white shades to make the bathroom appear more airy.

Floor: If your bathroom has a wooden flooring, do not forget to apply polyurethane, which protects your floor from dampness. Dark coloured terracotta tiles are yet another option to decorate your farmhouse bathroom. Decorate your bathroom floor with braided rugs.

Bathtub & Sink: Choose a pedestal sink and a claw-foot bathtub for your farmhouse bathroom design. Accessorize the tub with nickel or copper knobs and faucets to complete the country farmhouse decor.

Furniture: Install wooden cabinets or shelves around the bathroom to store your towels, linen and other toiletries. You can choose corner shelves too to decorate your bathroom. Store laundry etc in wicker baskets.

Accessories: No farmhouse decor is complete without antique, decorative stuff. Select a good mirror with a wrought-iron or silver frame for your country farmhouse decor. Store your beauty creams or lotions in old bottles or jars and store them on the mirror stand. Rustic soap dishes can be attached to the bathtub. Choose showpieces that can even come in handy as storage areas.
