Apart from these, garlic is a natural remedy to boost the immune system. Regular consumption of garlic is known to reduce the risk of catching flu or common cold by almost 63%.
It is also useful in treating ear infections and Staphylococcal infections. But there are certain conditions when garlic must not be consumed. Sometimes, raw garlic may cause bad breath, heart burn as well as body odour.
Apart from eating raw, normal consumption of garlic in dishes can also prove to produce adverse effects to some kind of people.

1. If You're On Anti-Coagulant Drugs:
Garlic possesses natural anticoagulant properties and is considered best to treat circulation problems. But if you have been using anti-coagulant medicines, it is recommended not to consume garlic, as it can lead to excessive bleeding.

2. Prescription Drugs:
If you suffer from any condition that requires prescription drugs, do not consume garlic without consultation with your doctor. This will make you realize when you must not consume garlic.

3. If You Have Liver Problems:
Garlic may decrease the effectiveness of certain medications and also the liver's breakdown functioning of some medications. Almost all medications, especially birth control medications, can have adverse impact on the body with garlic.

4. Sensitive Stomach:
Garlic is known to be heavy on the digestive system. Hence, if you have an irritable GI tract, it is best advised not to go for garlic. This is one of the times when you must not eat garlic.

5. If You're Pregnant:
Taking moderate amounts of garlic is fine, but consuming it as a remedy or cure while you're pregnant is totally not recommended.

6. Low Blood Pressure:
If your blood pressure is within the normal range or is dipping low, then it is best recommended not to consume garlic, as it may create health complications. Garlic may also further lower the blood pressure.
