The HPV virus that spreads through sexual contact can end up causing certain types of cancers. These are cancers of the throat, mouth, cervix, penis and anus. Now, you know how cancer can be contagious.

Did you know that obesity is contagious? Researchers have found that a virus in the body fat in obese adults is supposed to cause obesity.

Scarlet fever is accompanied by a skin rash resulting from toxins produced by the same microorganisms that cause strep throat. It causes a rash that typically lasts for about a week along with a fever and sore throat. It may normally be identified by a throat culture, and may always be medicated with antibiotics. This disease is contagious.

Impetigo is a skin infection caused due to either staph or strep bacteria. The first is less severe and only affects the top layer of the skin. It penetrates into the dermis of the skin, and could cause ulcers, accompanied by scarring. Both types usually are treated with antibiotic creams. The much more serious kind can be occasionally treated with oral antibiotics. It is infectious to broken skin.
