Blood Tests You Must Do Post 30
When we pass a certain age, it is important to take a couple of blood tests. These tests should be taken either before food or after, depending on the instructions of the lab assistant. A new study suggests that after the age of 30, both men and women should take these 6 blood tests.
It is important because after a period of time the body tends to develop a lot of diseases which some of us aren't aware of too. For example, the body gets lethargic post 30, we become inactive due to our sedentary lifestyle and due to high amounts of stress we are most prone to developing en number of diseases.
REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO TAKE A BLOOD TEST?
If you have passed the age of 30, it is time you pay a visit to the blood lab and perform these tests, to better your health. Take a look at some of the blood tests one must do after 30.

Diabetes
Diabetes test is very important for both men and women after the age of 30 years. Pregnant women, those who are physically inactive, and women who are obese are more likely to develop type II diabetes. FPG, OGT and HbA1c or glycated hemoglobin test should be taken.

Thyroid
After the age of 30 it is important to take a thyroid test, especially for women. Blood tests for thyroid will look into hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer and thyroiditis. The blood tests one must do is TSH, FT4, FT3,TPO-Microsomal antibody and ATA-Thyroglobulin antibody.

Anemia
This health problem is caused when the blood lacks vitamin B12, folic acid or iron. Therefore after the age of 30 it is important for women and men to take an anemic test. Here are the 6 blood tests required to test if your blood is good. Complete Blood Count (CBC), Vitamin B12 test, Serum Iron test, TIBC (Total Iron Binding Capacity), Transferrin Saturation/Iron Saturation test and Ferritin test.

CBC Test
CBC or complete blood count should be done at least once in the year after you past the age of 30 years. It is important to take this test as it could determine the diagnosis of common viral infection to serious diseases like malaria or tuberculosis. The tests you should do is RBC (Red Blood Cell) count, WBC (WhiteBlood Cell) count ,Platelet count ,Haemoglobin count ,Peripheral smear and ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate).

STD
At some stage in our lives it is important to take an HIV test. Detecting the disease earlier will help in at least prolonging your life span to a little bit. Blood tests for STDs usually include HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, syphilis, herpes, chlamydiaand gonorrhoea.

Coagulation Tests
A coagulation test may be used to measure how fast your blood clots. This is used to check for bleeding disorders. During the blood test, a sample of your blood is taken and a chemical is added to it. The chemical starts a chain of reactions that should make the blood in the sample clot.
