Mobile Phone Can Cause Male Infertility

Doctors believe the damage can be due to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by handsets or by the heat generated in the phone. Men have been found facing difficulties in fathering due to the widespread use and addiction caused from cell phones.
Sperm count drops due to many reasons like increasing obesity, smoking, pollution and stress but mobile phones are new addition to this list. It has been found out that men who use phone for more than 4 hours a day had 25% lower sperm count than compared to men who never use phones. Highest usage of mobiles like 6-7 hours a day has been found with poor sperm quality, a crucial factor in conception and a 50 % drop in the number of sperm formation.
Sperm is temperature sensitive and a short term increase in the temperature due to mobile heat can be held responsible for low count. Mobile usage can also increase temperature in the groin (involved in decrease sperm count) , affect the eyes, breasts and testicles as these areas attract energy easily due to mobile belts used to keep the mobile phone.
Men have been seen spending long hours texting with their mobile phones held in the lap near the reproductive system and when they start seeking for signal after sending the send button, it grabs more electromagnetic radiation. Doctors therefore have advised the users to keep their cells far from body contact especially at sensitive areas.
Doctors feel that the cells in the testes are highly susceptible to electromagnetic waves which directly damage these cells perhaps casing a gradual decrease in the sperm production. The main findings on the research was on four measures of sperm potency- appearance, motility, count and viability and morphology.
Therefore, it can be said that phone usage has a negative impact on not just male fertility but also heart, mental state and family to name a few. It can also cause health problems on the conceived children due to weak DNA. The longer one uses mobile phone, the greater the impact will be on sperm and body. So, it can be considered to be a cause of infertility in men.
