What is your notion about physical fitness? What is your barometer for the physical fitness? Is it muscles that Salman Khan or any one for that matter has?
People have wrong notions about physical fitness. They have set their own standards and examples for it. But physical fitness in real sense is entirely different from what they conceive.
We can call people with five components, physically fit.
1. Aerobic fitness
What is this aerobic fitness all about? It is nothing but the ability to do moderately hard activity over a period of time. During the work the heart and lungs work together to supply oxygen to the body. Heart and lungs of people with aerobic fitness work well and they are able to do moderate hard activity over a period of time. How many of you have this quality.
2. Muscular Endurance
Are you able to hold a two-pound weight above your head for five minutes or lift that weight 20 consecutive times? Then, you have muscular endurance. Muscular endurance can be defined as the ability to hold a particular position for a sustained period of time or repeat a movement many times
3. Muscular Strength
It is the ability to use maximum force one time. Can you lift the heaviest weight that you can move? Only when you have Muscular Strength in all area of your body, you can lift the heaviest weight that you can move. It is possible to have muscular strength in your arms, while lacking it in your legs.
4. Flexibility
Flexibility means the elasticity of the muscle; the ability to move a joint through its full range of motion.
5. Body Composition
The proportion of fat in your body compared to your bone and muscle is known as body composition. Now, tell me how may of you have physical fitness. Do you lack it? Don't worry. Make the exercise part of your daily life. You can also achieve it.
Exercise and be fit physically
Including regular physical activity into everyday life help achieve physical fitness. Joining a gym is not a necessary for it. Choose activities that can help speed your heart rate and breathing and increase your strength and flexibility. Exercise helps you relieve stress. By exercise you can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, colon cancer diabetes and high blood pressure
Walking is a lifetime exercise
Walking is a good exercise. Nowadays people walk rarely. They greatly depend on vehicles to reach the destination, even though it is at walking distance.
People of any age, fitness level, body build and energy level can exercise by walking. It is a basic daily movement and inexpensive. It is also a virtually injury free exercise.
You can drop your blood pressure with two weeks of regular walks. This is not an exaggeration; a proven fact. With each month of walking your heart and lungs become stronger and efficient. Your bones become stronger.
Start walking today itself and be close to your goal, physical fitness.
