Rashmika Mandanna's Hip Injury On Ranabaali, Mysaa Sets Forces Six-Week Break
Rashmika Mandanna was in the middle of an intense dance sequence when something in her hip gave way.
The actress has reportedly suffered a serious hip injury while filming her upcoming projects, Ranabaali and Mysaa, according to multiple entertainment reports. She is said to have sustained a complete tendon detachment in her hip after weeks of demanding action and dance schedules - the kind of injury doctors typically associate with elite athletes, not actors on a film set.
An injury doctors didn't expect to see
Reports suggest Rashmika was pushing through back-to-back physical sequences when the injury occurred. Medical professionals who examined her were reportedly surprised by how severe it was, noting that this category of tendon damage usually shows up in athletes who put their bodies through rigorous, repetitive physical training, not in performers balancing multiple film shoots.
She has now been advised complete rest for the next six weeks, to be followed by a structured rehabilitation programme aimed at restoring strength and mobility before she returns to work.
A packed schedule, now on pause
The injury lands at a demanding point in Rashmika's career. She is currently juggling four major film shoots alongside endorsement commitments for close to 30 national and international brands. Ranabaali, a pan-India historical action drama co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, is scheduled for release on 11 September 2026 - which means her six-week rest window falls right in the middle of an already tight production calendar.
Mysaa, the other project she was filming when the injury reportedly occurred, has generated considerable buzz since it was announced. Days before news of the injury broke, choreographer Brinda, who has worked with Rashmika on a song for the film - publicly praised the actress on Instagram for her discipline through rehearsals, noting how much preparation she put into the sequence and that she pushed through without complaint despite being in pain.
As of now, neither Rashmika nor her team has issued an official statement confirming the injury or the six-week timeline. Production schedules for both films, along with some of her brand commitments, are expected to be adjusted depending on how her recovery goes.
What We Know
What's striking here isn't just the injury - it's the mismatch between what audiences see on screen and what it costs to get there. A tendon detachment associated with athletic training happening to an actress mid-shoot says something about how physically demanding these roles have become, and how easily that toll goes unnoticed until an actor is forced to stop. For now, the message from her team is simple: no set, no shoots, six weeks of rest - and hopefully, a full recovery before the cameras roll again.
