Has Sweden Made Sex An Official Sport? Is Sex As Healthy As Sports?
According to multiple media reports published over the weekend, Sweden has become the first country in the world to officially recognize sex as a sport and the first-ever European Sex Championship will be held on June 8 in Gothenburg. Is this accurate?
The Swedish Sports Confederation has DENIED the reports and clarified they have not declared sex as a sport. They also stated that the event has not been approved by them and will not be allowed to take place.
Has Sweden Made Sex An Official Sport?
Initially reported on Twitter, the details turned out to be a fabrication as Swedish newspaper Goterborgs-Posten reported back in April that the National Sports Confederation of Sweden rejected Dragan Bratych's application for membership in the so-called Swedish Federation of Sex.
The National Sports Confederation, however, later stated that while the application from the Swedish Sex Federation was submitted on time, it was "incomplete". In addition, at the time, some four other confederations had also been rejected.
About The First-Ever European Sex Championship
As per media reports, the championship was to be held under the guidance of the Swedish Sex Federation and would last six weeks, with participants engaging in sexual activities under 16 disciplines, including seduction, oral sex, penetration, and more.
Participants were reported to engage in sexual activities for 45 minutes to an hour per day with their matches and/or activities during the European Sex Championship, which began on June 8 and will last for six weeks. It has been reported, however, that competitions could last up to six hours a day in some reports.
A panel of three judges and the audience ratings would determine the winner of the championship. Twenty people from different countries were expected to compete.
According to previous reports, the competition consisted of 16 disciplines, including oral sex, seduction, penetration, endurance, number of orgasms, knowledge of sex, chemistry and communication between the couple, appearance, and so on.
In order to earn additional points, the participants were supposed to possess a thorough understanding of the Sanskrit scripture Kamasutra on sex and eroticism.
"Just like any other sport, achieving desired results in sex requires training. Therefore, it is only logical for people to start competing in this domain as well," Bratych stated as reported by the Times of India.
Is Sex As Healthy As Sports?
Sex and sports are two activities that are often seen as mutually exclusive, yet they share many similarities. Both sex and sports are physical activities that require physical and mental effort, and both can be enjoyed alone or with a partner. Both activities also provide various health benefits, both physical and mental [1].
When it comes to comparing the two activities, it is clear that both sex and sports can provide a range of health benefits. However, it is important to note that everyone is different and the type and intensity of physical activity that works for one person may not be the same for another [2][3].
In conclusion, sex and sports can both provide many physical and mental health benefits. While each activity offers its own unique benefits, the key is to find the type of physical activity that works best for you. So, whether you prefer to hit the gym or the bedroom, the important thing is to make sure you're getting enough physical activity and taking care of your overall health.
