How To Make Your Fart Less Smelly – Different Ways To Treat The Problem
Here are certain ways in which you can make your fart less smelly.
Farting is a natural process and there is nothing awkward about it! A recent study says an average individual farts around 12 times in a day. However, bad or stinky odour released from your fart can be an embarrassing situation to deal with at times.

Fart is made up of gasses like oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane. However, if your fart is made from these gasses, it will be odourless. But the addition of sulphate to your fart can make it smell really, really bad.

Sulphate is one of the primary reasons behind your smelly fart. Sulphate usually gets combined in two different ways. One by the presence of bacteria in the intestine that leads to the production of sulphate; while, on another hand, by the sulphur-rich foods that we usually tend to gorge on.
However, if you have been a victim of smelly farts, here's how you can prevent the foul-smelling odour.
1. Reduce The Consumption Of Fatty Acids & Artificial Sweeteners
In order to deal with smelly farts, you should avoid consuming fried, oily and fatty foods. Consuming foods that are rich in oil and fat can lead to an increase in the intestinal gas, thus leading to bloating issues. You should also avoid consuming artificial sweeteners, as most of them contain sorbitol, which produces digestion problems and also leads to smelly farts.
2. Consume More Of Fresh Fruits And Veggies
In order to keep your intestine and body cool all the time, it is important to include the intake of fruits and veggies in your diet. Eating fruits and veggies on a regular basis makes sure that the bowel moment takes place easily and regularly. Also, this prevents the stools from getting accumulated inside the intestine in the body. In order to prevent smelly farts, your diet should be rich in fibre and hence you should include vegetables that have a low sulphur content such as eggplant, avocados, carrots and spinach.
3. Use More Of Herbs
In order to decrease the odour from the farts, you should start using herbs. There are several herbal remedies that can help to reduce bloating in the stomach, thus reducing the chance of smelly fart. You can consume green tea, chamomile tea and peppermint tea in order to prevent smelly farts. Consuming one cup of herb-infused tea can help to give odourless farts and also improve your digestive system. However, a pregnant woman should not include herbs to treat smelly fart.
4. Change Your Eating Habits
According to experts, it is said that 50% of the rectal gas comes from air that is swallowed while eating and drinking. In order to prevent smelly farts, chew your food slowly. Also, avoid gulping your liquids while drinking and do not use straw while sipping in liquids. You should avoid drinking soda or aerated drinks.
5. Reduce The Consumption Of Dairy Products
If the stool remains inside the intestine for a long time, the intestinal bacteria get into action with it, thus leading to smelly farts. You should limit the consumption of milk, cheese, yogurt, as you may be intolerant to lactose. You should avoid consuming cottage cheese and ice cream in order to avoid smelly farts. To make your fart odour free, you should prefer consuming lactose-free products.
6. Avoid Foods Rich In Sulphide
Avoiding foods rich in sulphur is the best way to make your farts not smell foul. You should avoid including foods such as ginger, garlic, onions, egg, meat, whole cow's milk, etc. You can substitute them with chicken and fish. Also, try to substitute onions and garlic with chilli peppers and ginger.
