Avoid These! 7 Foods That Aggravate Constipation
Foods that cause constipation.

Passing stool every two days is not constipation.
But if your bowel movements are less than three times a week, then you are definitely constipated.

And while it is a good idea to know the foods and drinks that ease constipation, it's an even better idea to avoid the foods that aggravate it.
Like the following.

#1 Fast Food
Fast food, like burgers, fries, and pizzas, cause constipation because they are high in fat and low in nutritional value, which dehydrates your body and slows down your bowel movement.
So if you are constipated, stay away from the fast food joints!

#2 Coffee and Black Tea
Caffeine relieves constipation by stimulating your bowel. But if you are dehydrated, it works in the opposite fashion and causes constipation.

#3 White Bread
Unlike multi-grain or whole grain bread, white bread is full of starch and has very little fiber, which is the reason why you should avoid it if you have constipation.

#4 Red Meat
It might be delicious, but it also high in fats and tough protein fibers (which is difficult for your gut to digest).
And the high iron content also makes this a constipation-unfriendly food.

#5 Gluten
Gluten is a complex protein found in certain grains, like wheat, rye, and barley, which gives the dough its elasticity and makes cakes and bread chewy.
Unfortunately, a lot of people are sensitive to this compound and develop intense autoimmune problems when they consume it. And constipation just happens to be one symptom of gluten intolerance.
So if you are constipated, switch to brown rice for a while as both rotis and rice will aggravate your problem.

#6 Raw Bananas
Ripe bananas are known to aid bowel movement and reduce constipation.
Unfortunately, the unripe ones do the opposite.
This is because unripe bananas have too much starch in them, which makes it difficult for the body to digest them. And the high amount of pectin fibers don't make things easier as they draw out water from your intestines and dehydrate your body, which aggravates constipation.

#7 Chocolates
Chocolates may taste divine. But the high amount of fat in them makes them a perfect constipation-unfriendly food.
So keep this in mind, and stay away from those chocolate bars when your bowel isn't moving in the right direction.
