It is the season of the rains. A respite from the scorching sun. The rains bring a lot of relief to plants and trees. They bloom to the fullest in the rain, and it washes away the dirt accumulated during the summer season. Animals also welcome the rain; we see ponds and lakes overflowing with water.

But rainy season can disrupt our everyday lives. Daily commute between home and office becomes difficult due to the constant downpour. Chances of falling sick also increase. However, the biggest problem people face in the monsoon season is because of increase in moisture content in the atmosphere.

Remember how our elders used to dry every food item before storing it to preserve it for long? That's because moisture content in food becomes a breeding area for fungus, which spoils the food. Even damp clothes when kept inside the cupboard, start developing fungus because fungus can live almost everywhere.
