In case of severe fungal infection even the skin starts breaking down. There are several causes for fungal infection around the skin. A moist environment, dirt and sweat that allow the bacteria to grow is one of the major factors that causes fungal infection.
When it comes to fungal infection in the skin, it is commonly found around the areas especially between your toes, in the genital region and around skin folds.

Maintaining personal hygiene is highly important to keep such fungal infection at bay. One needs to be extra cautious as the skin infections caused by fungus are contagious. If not taken care of on time, it might lead to other serious health issues as well.
Have a look at a few of these home remedies to treat skin fungal infection.

1. Turmeric:
Turmeric is known for its antifungal and antiseptic properties. Take a piece of raw turmeric root, crush it and then apply its juice on the affected area. Leave it for about two hours. Wash it off with lukewarm water and dry it. Do this 1-2 times a day.

2. Vinegar:
Add a few drops of vinegar to a bowl containing water. Apply this diluted vinegar to the affected area and then keep it for about 15 minutes and then rinse it. It helps cure skin fungal infection effectively.

3. Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree oil is known for its anti-fungal properties. Take a few drops of tea tree oil and add a few drops of olive oil or almond oil. Apply it to the affected region in your body for about 2-3 times a day.

4. Garlic:
Known for its anti-fungal properties, garlic helps in treating skin infection caused by fungus effectively. Take 2-3 garlic cloves, crush it and then add a few drops of olive oil and mix it. Apply it on the affected areas and keep it for half an hour. Wash it off with lukewarm water and dry it.

5. Yogurt:
Yogurt contains probiotic that helps in preventing further growth of fungus. Take a cotton ball soaked in yogurt and apply it on the infected area. Leave it for about half an hour. Wash it off with warm water and dry it. Do this at least once a day; it helps.

6. Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is one of the best home remedies for skin fungal infection. Take a bit of virgin coconut oil and apply it over the affected area. Do this at least twice a day for best results.

7. Lavender Oil:
Known for its anti-fungal properties, apply a few drops of lavender oil to the affected area. Leave it for about 15 minutes and then rinse it. It helps cure the skin fungal infection quickly.

8. Olive Leaf:
Olive leaf is known for its anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties. Take a few olive leaves, crush them and apply them on the affected area. Keep it for about half an hour. Wash it off with warm water and dry it. Do this at least twice a day.
