Stages Of Chicken Pox
Chicken Pox is a one time diseases that happens generally in the infant or child stage. Very rarely, a person remains unaffected by Chicken Pox till the adult stage.
Chicken Pox vaccinations and injections are available. Chicken Pox is such a diseases that once it occurs our body makes antibodies to fight the virus instantly. It rarely repeats itself in one patient.

In this article, we shall discuss a few stages of chicken pox and the chicken pox infectious period. The article deals with how long is the infectious stage of chicken pox stays. Chicken Pox is a highly contagious diseases, though it can infect a person only once.

Stage 1 - The first stage of chicken pox which is the major symptom of chicken pox is the onset of rashes and boils. Chicken pox infection period starts with the occurrence of rashes. The red rashes and boils start spreading all over the body. The rashes and their stay defines how long is the infectious stage of the chicken pox for a person. In the first stage of chicken pox, there are small bumps formed all over the body. The Stage 1 of Chicken Pox infectious period may also have symptoms like fatigue, irritation, fever and weakness. This is the early stage when you must take care of the bumps. Bursting any of these might lead to scars. The liquid inside the bump can also spread and form new bumps on your skin. Therefore, the more careful you stay the shorter is the chicken pox period.
Stage 2 - The stage 2 is when the bumps start forming blisters. The bumps start growing bigger in size and may cause more irritation and pain. The blisters becomes fluid filled and can burst and leak at any moment. This is the worst part of the chicken pox infectious period. This period stays for 4-5 days after the pink bumps start forming. The fever and headache is at the peak at this stage. this is how long the chicken pox infection prevails. This stage can be the most contagious in nature and cause diseases to all the near and dear ones.Keep the patient away in this infectious period, wash their clothes separately.
Stage 3 - This is the end of the chicken pox infection period. In this stage the blisters burst and the fluid dries away. The blisters dry to become rough skin which scalps away. Once, the blisters dry to form scabbed lesions, the infectious stage of chicken pox gets over. Though, the skin takes several more days of healing, but it is no longer infectious. Therefore, the blisters and the intensity of infection decides how long is the chicken pox infection period. Generally, the infection stays for a period of 10-12 days. In this period all the three stages occur. The chicken pox infection period can prolong a 10 day period in case of severe infection. The first stage requires 1-2 days, as the infection spreads all over the body in 48 hours. The next stage takes 4-5 days and the last stage takes another 3-4 days. This is the tentative infection period of chicken pox.
