Can Ginger Cure Morning Sickness During Pregnancy?
Ginger is well known as a natural anti-bacterial element and also for it's antiemetic properties. Antiemetic property is the the ability to control the feeling of nausea. Thus, with these two elements, ginger has often been used for stomach disorders, arthritis and sickness. Ginger for morning sickness during pregnancy cure is often recommended but a recent research though acknowledges it for it's properties don't see it as a cure.
;To prove the effect of ginger on morning sickness during pregnancy, a study was published in Cochrane Database of Systematic, which involved ladies who were 20 weeks pregnant. This is the time when morning sickness is experienced the most. They were divided into two groups, one group was given a dose of ginger for morning sickness during pregnancy and the other group received a dose of vitamin B6. In some instances, ginger did prove to be a treatment for nausea and so did vitamin B6. The only difference was that women who used regular dose of ginger for morning sickness during pregnancy complained of heartburn. Thus, the reserachers concluded that it has still not been proved that ginger for morning sickness during pregnancy is a cure and is safe.
The American Pregnancy Association has something else to say for ginger as a cure for morning sickness during pregnancy. The association advices not to take high doses of ginger during pregnancy as it's effects on the development of the fetus in not known. Though, using ginger dishes are safe.
