Simple Steps To Prevent Bedsores

Bedsores also known as pressure ulcers are lesions caused due to unrelieved pressure, friction, humidity and age. They affect on the knee, ankles, elbows and sacrum regions. These sores can develop in a few minutes and take months to heal.
Bedsores Symptoms -
1. Skin Discoloration: The color of the skin gets darker irrespective of the skin color. The skin turns reddish to purple in fair skin and even darker on darker complexion.
2. The red sore also makes the region hot causing a bad odor.
3. The sore may also contain a thick yellow pus
5. The swelling in the sore and the size varies on the region it affects.
6. The affected portion turns tender and very painful.
Pressure Sore Prevention -
1. For relieving the pressure and friction that causes these sores, one needs to change the position regularly (every hour).
2. Eat Healthy Diet: During this condition, one needs to eat good food so that the body gets enough nutrition to repair the skin cells.
3. Treatment For Skin: Cleaning the affected area with a good soap and applying an anti bacterial and anti fungal cream keeps the skin clean and free from further infection. 4. See to it that the area is dry and not too moisturized as one of the prime reasons for these bedsores is humidity.
4. Change clothes everyday and even the bedspreads or cushions that you sleep or rest on to prevent these sores.
