Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Summer Resort: Ajay Kumar's Paradox of Lotus Sutra

Posted By:

On day 3 at the Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Summer Resort, there was an intensity of colours on the ramp and it all began with deigner Aiman's collection.

Looking at this fabulous line by Ajay Kumar, we gazed at the models without batting an eyelid. The new line of Ajay Kumar is from the last season titled 'Paradox of Lotus Sutra'.

As the name suggests, each of the ensembles featured the lotus pattern, which was indeed the core motiff. According to the designer, he quotes, " 'Paradox of Lotus Sutra' is an avant garde surreal summer theme that throws light on this existing symbolism of 'The Lotus Flower' in context to the duality of human nature.

Sutra is the thread that holds the cosmic, spiritual and physical elements together in juxtaposition with the geometric illusions that the Lotus creates - 'Padma-Maye'. In this line you will feast your eyes upon totes and man purses, Prints mixed with bright patterns, finely tailored blazers and well-structured silhouettes emphasised the coolness of this collection.

So, what are you waiting for? Take a look at this superb collection that will only leave your jaws dropped:

Zebra Crossing

The cute little v neckline and the flare at the bottom of this monochrome gown is simply superb.

Heavy With Prints

The model is seen wearing a heavy printed top and formal pant to match. What is more interesting is the cute tote of the same pattern.

Men Go Bright With Prints

The male models in this collection are seen wearing bright printed clothes. The cut-out at the center of the shirt is unique and a rare pattern.

Ruffles & Men

The bright shades of pink and red on the slightly ruffled tee is new for the season. What we adore is the combination of colours.

Waist It Up

The collection you see is all about gender-bending. The male model is carrying off the lady-like look extremely well.

Loud Bomber Jackets

This look sure is a 'bomber'. The model is carrying off a bomber jacket which accentuates the navy blue printed kurta, and a bag to match.

Pleated Trousers

It was pleated volume trousers and paper thin suits which ruled the male look on the ramp.

Pop Of Colour

Thiswell-structured silhouettes emphasised the coolness of this collection.

The Man With The Rose

Thefloral-printed jackets and the summer trenchcoats on the male models just proved that men too can carry off that girly style, we are enjoying it!
