Cannes Film Festival 2023: Aishwarya Rai To Deepika Padukone, Bollywood Divas Who Served As Jury At Film Fest
Cannes, one of the most prestigious film festivals is all set to happen from 16 to 27 May 2023. The film personalities from Hollywood, Bollywood, and world cinema make their presence felt at the prestigious event. Leading Bollywood actresses including Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, and others have over the years have not only put the best fashion foot forward on the red carpet but also served as the jury as well!
Here's a list of Bollywood actresses and film personalities who served on the jury at the Cannes:
1. Deepika Padukone
The gorgeous Deepika Padukone made her red carpet debut in 2017 and joined the jury in 2022 at the Festival de Cannes. Dippy's fashionable looks at the Cannes with Indian as well as modern ensembles earned a lot of appreciation from fashion critics and style enthusiasts.
2. Aishwarya Rai
The former Miss World Aishwarya Rai is a known face at the prestigious Cannes! The ever-gorgeous star made her debut appearance in 2002 and was a part of the Cannes 2003 jury. To date, Aishwarya continues to win the hearts of her fans with her stellar appearances at Cannes!
3. Mira Nair
Ace director Mira Nair served on the jury in 1990 in Cannes. Her debut feature film Salaam Bombay won the Camera d'Or and Grand Prix du Publique in Cannes and numerous other awards including the Oscars!
4. Nandita Das
Talented actress and filmmaker Nandita Das served as a jury member at Cannes in 2005. The director joined the short film jury for Cinefondation, a Cannes foundation which promotes next-generation international filmmakers.
5. Sharmila Tagore
Veteran Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore joined the jury team in 2009. Her film Devi, directed by Satyajit Ray was screened at the Cannes film festival in 1962.
6. Vidya Balan
The supremely talented movie star Vidya It was three years before another Indian representative served on the jury, but in 2013, multi-award-winning Kahaani actress Vidya Balan was invited to join the prestigious group, the same year she made her Cannes debut.
