Cannes 2023: The First Four Days of Wacky Fashion; Urvashi Rautela Wears A Fake Copy!
Cannes Film Festival, which runs from 16 May to 27 May 2023, is in full swing. The Cannes 2023 Film Festival is sure to be an exciting event, with many filmmakers from around the world vying to showcase their work.
As the world's most renowned film festival, Cannes is a fashion playground too! The fashion game is another prominent feature of Cannes, in addition to the diverse selection of films and talents. Although it's a film festival, fashion does not take a back seat here.
The biggest names in the entertainment industry and the ones who want to make a name in the world of movies attend the festival, donning the finest of couture and designers.
It's a fact that while there are some of them who look like a million bucks, there are many of them who fall short. And that's what we'll be looking at today - the first four days of wacky fashion at Cannes 2023!

The celebs who failed to hit the spot!
1. Urvashi Rautela
Miss Rautela, who has won Miss Diva Universe 2015, Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2011, Miss Asian Supermodel 2011, and Miss Universe India 2012 - yeah, that's a lot - was a total miss on all her 3 attires, imo.
The first one, a pink tulle dress by Simacouture resembled something you would see at a sweet sixteen bday party, and that tight top knot did not compliment the look in any way.
What stood out the most was her crocodile necklace - which actually made headlines - a Maria Felix's Cartier Crocodile Necklace 1975. While the necklace has an amazing history attached to it, Miss Maam Rautela's pick was a 100% miss!
UPDATE: In an Instagram story, a jewellery expert named Arundhati De-Sheth criticised Urvashi for wearing a fake neckpiece to Cannes 2023. After all, Urvashi's Maria Felix's Cartier Crocodile Necklace wasn't really the original piece. Yikes!
2. Miss Rautela, again!
Next, Urvashi was spotted in a Tarik Ediz gown which was somewhat similar to the pink tulle mess (I meant, dress) but somehow made drab with the catastrophic hair-do. The middle partition fringe and the top knot bun (again) did nothing for Miss Universe India 2012. Yet another MISS!
3. No surprise here, it's Urvashi Rautela
Some say it's a homage to Queen Aishwarya Rai's 2016 Purple Lipstick fiasco at the Cannes Film Festival. While Aish may have (strong emphasis on the 'may') carried the look, Rautela was unable to do so - her Saiid Kobeisy gown did no justice to her, sadly.
4. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The silver Sophie Couture gown is a lewk, that's true. But did it really do what it was supposed to do for the beauty queen? I would have to sadly admit that it sort of didn't. With lightweight aluminium details and a signature corset, the ensemble is part of the Cannes Capsule Collection, which features crystals sourced from the brand's archives.
Hopefully, Cannes 2023 will bring some amazing fashion game in the coming days!
