Cannes Film Festival is a highly prestigious film festival held annually at Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, which is a convention center at French Riviera in France. This invitation-only film festival had its origin in 1932 and over a passage of time, Cannes has gained popularity as the prime platform for screening, promoting, and honouring the select International films with accolades and awards. The Golden Palm award for the Best Film is the most important award given at the Cannes Film Festival. Each year a jury is selected by festival’s board of directors, who decide which films will receive a Cannes award. The current President of the Cannes Film Festival is the former journalist, Pierre Lescure.
