As ‘Toxic’ Arrives In Theatres On August 26, Kiara Advani Turns Up The Gothic Glamour In A Black Saree

With 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' set to arrive in theatres on August 26, Kiara Advani is ending the film's promotional run on a glamorous note. At the Telugu pre-release event in Hyderabad, the actor stepped out in a dramatic black saree that brought together rich velvet, sheer lace and statement jewellery for a distinctly gothic take on Indian glamour.

Kiara Advani's Black Saree Brings Gothic Glamour

Kiara Advani wore a custom black velvet saree by Manish Malhotra, using the rich fabric and all-black palette to create a striking silhouette. The standout element, however, was the blouse.

The saree was paired with a sheer, long-sleeved lace cut-out blouse featuring intricate, mesh-like floral and geometric embroidery across the arms and shoulders. The sheer lace against the heavier velvet created a striking contrast, giving the traditional six-yard silhouette a contemporary edge.

The dramatic cut-out detail also added a touch of boldness without taking away from the saree's elegant appeal.

Kiara Advani Wears Emerald Jewellery That Adds A Pop Of Colour

Kiara kept the jewellery focused but impactful with an emerald-and-diamond statement necklace and studs. The rich green stones stood out beautifully against the black velvet, adding colour to an otherwise monochrome look and completed the ensemble with Aquazzura Slow Kisses sandals.

Kiara Advani's Sleek Hair And Soft Glam Keep The Look Balanced

With the saree and blouse already making a statement, Kiara kept her beauty look relatively understated. She wore her hair in a sleek, centre-parted updo, allowing the neckline and statement jewellery to remain visible.

Defined eyes, softly sculpted cheeks and a glossy nude-pink lip completed the look. The result was a polished combination of gothic glamour and classic Indian dressing, with the dramatic textures doing most of the work.

Kiara Advani's Fashion Moment Ahead Of 'Toxic'

Kiara attended the Telugu pre-release event of Toxic at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad on August 22. The event brought together Yash and members of the cast and team ahead of the film's August 26 theatrical release.

After the event, Kiara thanked Hyderabad for the love and energy she received during the promotions and also thanked Manish Malhotra for creating the saree. The designer has been closely involved with Kiara's costumes for her character Nadia in Toxic.

At the event, Kiara also spoke about director Geetu Mohandas, crediting her for seeing something in her and giving her the freedom to bring Nadia to life. Yash, meanwhile, praised Kiara's performance and expressed confidence that audiences would fall in love with her all over again.

The Hyderabad Event Takes An Unexpected Turn

The celebratory event was briefly disrupted when a speaker structure collapsed near the crowd, leaving four people injured, according to later reports. Cyberabad Police subsequently registered a case against the management of Malla Reddy University and the event manager.

Yash also paused his speech following the incident and urged people who had climbed onto elevated structures to come down.

Despite the disruption, Kiara's black saree became one of the most striking fashion moments from the 'Toxic' promotions. With its velvet drape, sheer lace, emerald jewellery and sleek styling, the look offered a dramatic new take on the classic saree just as the much-awaited film heads to theatres.
