Anoushka Shankar Brings Her Global Musical Identity To Zoya’s Spice-Inspired High Jewellery Campaign
Anoushka Shankar has built an internationally recognised career by bringing Indian classical music into conversation with contemporary sounds and influences from around the world. An acclaimed sitarist and composer, she has received multiple Grammy nominations and earned recognition for her work across musical genres. Her creative journey, shaped by her Indian heritage and willingness to experiment, now informs ZOYA's latest High Jewellery campaign, 'Her Again'.
Launched on October 6, 2026, the collection draws inspiration from Indian spices and their associations with memory, tradition and personal identity. The luxury jewellery atelier from the Tata Group translates familiar colours, textures and forms into elaborate gemstone creations, exploring the idea of a woman reconnecting with different aspects of herself.
Anoushka Shankar And The Idea Behind 'Her Again'
Anoushka Shankar's role as the campaign's muse reflects the collection's focus on balancing cultural roots with individual expression. Having developed a distinctive musical identity across cultures and genres, she represents the idea of drawing from inherited traditions while allowing them to evolve through personal experience.
Speaking about the collection, Anoushka said, "What I love about ZOYA is the way it takes what we inherit and allows it to evolve through colour, gemstones and craft. I've always believed you can be deeply rooted in a culture and still speak to the world in a way that feels relevant, simply through the lens of your own experience."
She added that the collection captures this balance through jewellery that feels timeless while remaining fresh and inventive.
How Indian Spices Inspire The Collection
'Her Again' takes its visual cues from the colours and sensory associations of Indian spices. The golden warmth of turmeric, the deep red of mace, the green of cardamom and the richness of saffron and rose inform the collection's palette and sculptural details.
The designs incorporate natural gemstones such as rubellite, emerald, Madeira citrine, Orissa rose garnet, golden heliodor and yellow sapphire. Rather than treating spices simply as decorative motifs, the collection connects them with the memories and experiences associated with familiar ingredients and rituals.
According to Arun Narayan, Chief Executive Officer - Jewellery at Titan Company Limited, the collection reflects an approach to high jewellery in which cultural meaning and emotional resonance are as important as rarity and craftsmanship. He also highlighted Shankar's ability to interpret her Indian influences for audiences around the world.
A Closer Look At The High Jewellery Pieces
Several pieces from 'Her Again' translate the collection's spice-inspired concept through distinctive gemstones, intricate settings and sculptural forms.
1. Eternal Ember Necklace
The Eternal Ember Necklace features 748 stones, including a 5.4-carat cabochon Mandarin garnet at its centre. Sapphire, rubellite and citrine contribute to its vivid colour palette. Its three-dimensional construction comprises 102 individually crafted elements, with the piece taking 2,112 hours to complete.
2. Afterglow Ring
The Afterglow Ring centres on a 2.7-carat rubellite set within custom-cut matte rock crystal. Sculptural details inspired by mace surround the central stone, while Zambian emeralds introduce contrasting shades of green. The design combines translucent textures with saturated colour.
3. Eternal Ember Earrings
Featuring two rubellites totalling seven carats, the Eternal Ember Earrings combine rich pink hues with diamonds and intricate settings. The design draws on the warmth associated with Indian spices, translating the theme into a pair of statement jewels.
4. Unbound Bangle
The Unbound Bangle brings together 6.4 carats of crimson rubellites, Orissa rose garnets and diamonds. Inspired by clove buds and unfurling mace, the design incorporates fine fretwork and sculpted detailing.
5. Amber Bliss Earrings And Necklace
The Amber Bliss earrings feature 22 carats of Madeira citrine, complemented by pink tourmalines, sapphires and diamonds. Marigold-inspired forms shape the design, while an open-back setting allows light to pass through the gemstones.
The matching necklace features a 38-carat Madeira citrine surrounded by pink tourmalines, orange and yellow sapphires, and diamonds. Sculpted marigold forms create its silhouette, and more than 1,000 hours of craftsmanship went into the piece.
Anoushka Shankar And The Evolving Language Of Indian Heritage
With 'Her Again', ZOYA uses Indian spices as a starting point to explore the relationship between cultural memory and personal identity. The collection brings together colourful gemstones, elaborate craftsmanship and forms drawn from familiar elements of Indian life.
For Shankar, whose music connects Indian classical traditions with a wide range of global influences, the campaign reflects a creative philosophy of staying connected to one's roots while exploring new expressions. Her association with the collection brings this idea into focus, placing cultural heritage and individual reinvention at the heart of the campaign.
