Wendell Rodricks is a Goan designer who got trained in Los Angeles and Paris. He set a new minimalism style, which resulted in his Guru of Minimalism media tag. Wendell Rodricks became the first Indian designer to be invited to the world’s largest garment fair IGEDO, Dusseldorf in 1995. Since then he has shown in Beijing, Dubai, New York, Paris and many cities worldwide, often representing the Government of India.

About the brand: At a time when couture in India meant silk with embroidery, Rodricks led the way with his rural cotton weaves, eco dyes and garment patterns favouring cut and colour, never resorting to embroidery in his entire career. Rodricks first came to prominence through three shows in 1992 which earned him recognition as someone with creativity and talent. The following year he created garments cutting ancient India’s geometry. He moved the sarong and bikini to mainstream ramp and created garments that set the first “resort style” in India way back in 1993.
