Sougat Paul studied at the prestigious NIFT, Kolkata. After completion of the degree, he gained experience in working as a stylist in Mumbai. From there he moved on to working with various brands before venturing out on his own in 2010.
About the brand: In 2010, the label debuted in Lakme Fashion Week as a gen next Designer & recieved a lot of accolades worldwide. Detailing has been a key element for this label. Smallest inspiration from a basket weave to a paper cutout, this label is an amalgamation of day to day thought knitted together. SOUP label was formed taking the initials of his name SOUGAT PAUL. The idea was to make something classy with a bit of coy. Detailing has been the mainstay for this label with a special impetus on the quality & finishing. Unsurprisingly, Sougat Paul’s Cocktail & Gala Dresses are naturally vaunted for their exquisite gorgeousness & beloved not only in India but internationally too.
