Tangy Bhindi With Besan Recipe
Bhindi or ladies' finger is a versatile vegetable. It can be cooked with many different ingredients. It imbibes the flavours of the ingredients it is cooked with.
If you are wondering how to make this squishy vegetable into a tasty dish, then here is a simple recipe using bhindi that goes very well with hot rice or rotis. This is a side dish recipe in which the bhindis are cooked with besan. Besan, or gram flour, is often used to prepare the stuffing for masala. Be it bharwan bhindi or bharwan mirchi, besan stuffing changes the taste of the side dish completely.
Here is the bhindi with besan recipe that is quick and tastes delicious too. The slit bhindis are roasted with besan and mixed with aromatic spices. Take a look at the side dish recipe.

Serves: 4-5
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 25-30 minutes
Ingredients
- Bhindi- 500gms
- Onion- 1 (sliced)
- Besan- 2tbsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Amchur powder- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Coriander powder- ½ tsp
- Green chillies- 2 (slit)
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 1tsp
Procedure
- Wash the bhindis and then dry it using a clean cloth. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Cut the dried bhindis into two halves.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Season with cumin seeds.
- Add the bhindis and onions and saute on a medium flame for about 4-5 minutes.
- Now add the besan, green chillies, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and amchur powder.
- Cook well for 3-4 minutes till the smell of the besan vanishes and the colour also turns brown.
- Put the pan off the flame.
Bhindi with besan is ready to eat. Serve the tangy side dish hot with roti or rice.
