Sprouts Pulao: Heart Healthy Recipe
Tension, stress, bad eating habits, lack of exercise and an unhealthy lifestyle. All of these factors have contributed to increase in heart diseases and various other complications. Due to our busy lives, we often do not pay attention to what we are consuming everyday. Most of the heart problems like high bp and cholesterol arise from the unhealthy eating habits.
It is extremely crucial for each one of us to keep a check on what we eat. Healthy eating habits can keep heart diseases at bay. So, here is a healthy sprouts pulao recipe which is a great option for the heart patients and all others who want to avoid heart diseases. The mildly spiced brown rice is cooked with the sprouts along with colourful veggies. The dish looks extremely delectable and tastes awesome. It is also an excellent option for your lunch box.

Ingredients
- Moth beans (matki)- ½ cup (sprouted)
- Green moong dal- ½ cup (sprouted and boiled)
- Brown rice- 2 cups (cooked)
- Capsicum- 1 (large, chopped)
- French beans- 4 (chopped)
- Tomatoes- 2 (medium sized, chopped)
- Onion- 1 (large, finely chopped)
- Ginger- 1 (chopped)
- Garlic- 3-4 cloves (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Cumin powder- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
- Coriander powder- ½ tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Oil- 2tsp
Procedure
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.
- Add chopped onions and fry for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
- Add ginger, garlic and fry for 2 minutes.
- Then add french beans, capsicum, salt and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Keep stirring at regular intervals.
- Add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
- Add the sprouts and the moong dal. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Now add the brown rice and mix lightly.
- Add little more salt if needed. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Once done, switch off the flame and serve.
Healthy and tasty sprouts pulao is ready to be served. You can enjoy this delicious dish on its own or with the side dish of your choice.
