Yummy Raw Mango Curry Recipe
The king of fruits is everyone's favourite. Mango is loved by all and in any form. The traditional mango rice in South India is a must preparation in homes during the sweet season.
Today, we share with you an easy mango recipe which you can prepare using only green mangoes. Though many use raw green mangoes for pickles we show you how you can use this delicious fruit in a curry.
This raw mango curry is easy to prepare and though it is a vegetarian dish, you can transform it by adding diced boneless chicken to enhance the taste.
To prepare mango curry, make sure the fruit is a little ripe so that the curry does not turn out to be sour. Also, keep in mind that this sweet and spicy curry does not need to much of salt.

Here is how you prepare this yummy raw mango curry, take a look:

Cooking Time: 25 minutes
You Will Need
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Jaggery - 1 tbsp
- Red Chillies - 6
- Salt - 3/4 tsp
- Coconut - 1/2 (pieces)
- Onion - 2 (sliced)
- Green Mangoes - 250 gms
- Garlic - 6 pods
- Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Salt to taste
- Water - 1 cup
Procedure
- Peel the raw green mangoes. Slice the mangoes into small pieces and keep aside.
- Now grind the coconut, chillies, garlic, ginger, cumin and coriander seeds. When done, keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. When it's hot add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown in colour.
- Now add the ground mixture and stir-fry well. ( Fry the masala till the oil oozes from the sides of the pan)
- Add the chopped mango and jaggery to the pan. Stir well.
- Pour one glass water to the pan and mix.
- Add salt to the pan and give it a final stir.
- Allow the green mango curry to cook over a medium flame. Cook until the mango pieces are tender.
