Andhra Special: Palak Pappu Curry Recipe
Pappu is nothing but a dal tadka that is little more spicy and tangy. Some use gongura (a type of herb) and garlic, which is why the taste lingers in the tongue for long. Look for the procedure.
Andhra Palak Pappu Recipe Ingredients:
1 big bunch of spinach (washed, chopped finely)
1 cup toor dal
1 onion (chopped finely)
1 tomato (chopped)
' cup gongura leaves (chopped) or 2 tsps of tamarind juice
Salt to taste
4-5 green chillies
For Pappu:
A tsp of urad and chana dal
2-3 pods of garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil or ghee
4-5 curry leaves
Palak Pappu Recipe Preparation:
1. Pressure cook palak, toor dal, onion, tomato, slit chillies, salt and tamarind juice (chopped gongura).
2. Fry mustard, cumins, urad dal, gram dal and curry leaves in hot ghee and garnish the spicy dal.
This easy Indian recipe taste heavy with rice or chapathi. Adding ghee will make the dish more aromatic and tasty.
