For the Saffron Sauce :
500ml Milk
2gm Saffron soaked in 2tbsp Warm Milk
1e tbsp Corn flour
4 - 5 tbsp Sugar
2 tbsp Cashew and Almonds, Chopped and roasted for garnish
Method:
Cut the bread slices into triangles. Crush the Chikki. Boil Milk with Sugar. Once it starts boiling, simmer and add the Corn flour slurry and stir the mixture continuously to thicken. Take it off the heat once you achieve a spoon-coating consistency. Add in Saffron.
To prepare the Mawa mixture :
Mix mawa with Cream till smooth and soft. Add Chikki powder and mix.
For Assembling :
Sandwich the Mawa mixture between the slice of bread. Arrange the sandwiches in a shallow dish. Pour the Saffron sauce over it. Chill the dish and garnish with Saffron strands and Dry fruits. Serve chilled.
