Navratri Recipe: Singhare Ki Poori
Singhare ka atta or the water chestnut flour is one of the special ingredients which can be used in preparation of various dishes to be eaten during fast. Since the Navratri fast has commenced, we thought of introducing a special vrat recipe with which you can start your day.
Singhare ka atta or water chestnut flour is available in almost any grocery shop. So, you just need to buy this flour from the market and add a few ingredients to it to make these special singhare ki poori. Singhare is poori is easy to make healthy recipe and a perfect dish to try during the Navratri fast.

So, fry these delicious singhare ki pooris and gear up for your Navratri fast.
Serves: 4
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Singhada (water chestnut) flour- 2 cups
- Potatoes- 2 (boiled and mashed)
- Spinach leaves- ¼ cup (finely chopped)
- Ajwain (carrom seeds)- ½ tbsp
- Green chillies- 2 (finely chopped)
- Rock salt- as per taste
- Water- for kneading
- Oil- for deep frying
Procedure
1. Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl together, except the water and oil.
2. Knead a semi soft dough with water.
3. Heat the oil in a deep bottomed kadhai.
4. Roll out small pooris from the dough.
5. Fry the pooris in hot oil till they swell up and become golden brown.
6. Make more pooris by following the same steps.
Singhare ki poori is ready to be served. Enjoy this special vrat recipe for Navratri with aloo ki sabji.
