Masala For Dosa Recipe

Dosa is a very popular Indian pancake that is a specialty of Southern India. There are many varieties of dosa that you can prepare. This Indian breakfast is very filling and healthy. Masala dosa is one of the most popular breakfast recipe.
The filling or masala of dosa is prepared with boiled potatoes, Indian spices especially turmeric powder and mustard seeds. And is very easy to prepare. Check out the masala of dosa recipe.
Masala for dosa recipe:

Serves: 4-5 dosas
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- Potatoes- 6
- Onions- 2 (finely chopped)
- Carrot- 1 (grated or chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Oil- 1tbsp
- Salt as per taste
Procedure
- Cut the potatoes into 4 halves and boil in water for a duration of 5-6 whistles. Let the pressure come out. Open the lid and peel the potatoes.
- Mash the potatoes in a bowl. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Season with mustard seeds.
- Saute the onions and carrot in it till they turn translucent.
- Sprinkle salt, turmeric powder and then add the mashed potatoes. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes on a medium flame.
Masala for the dosa is ready to eat. Use it as a stuffing to prepare masala dosa. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
