Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Curry leaves - 1 cup (fresh and green)
- Whole black gram - ½ cup
- Bengal gram - ¼ cup (whole)
- Red chillies - 7 chillies (dried)
- Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Procedure
- In a heated pan, roast the curry leaves in oil for about 2 to 3 minutes continuously till it turns crispy.
- Turn off the stove off and allow the curry leaves to cool.
- In another pan add ½ a teaspoon of oil, whole bengal gram, whole black gram, red chillies and roast over medium flame till it turns golden brown in colour.
- Now turn off the flame, add the asafoetida and let the mixture cool.
- Take the cooled curry leaves and grind it in the mixer until half done.
- To the above mixture, add in the dal mixtures and salt as per required.
- Grind the total mixture into a coarse powder.
- When done, spread the powder on a clean sheet of paper and allow it to cool.
