Badam Phirni Recipe For Ramzan
Ramzan is about to start in a few days. The crucial time when you have to fast throughout the day and then wait for the feast to start in evening. After a day's fasting, the food that you consume tastes heavenly. Therefore it is also a time when you make some delicious food items to be consumed after the fast. Naturally you cannot leave out sweets from your list of delicacies.
Phirni is a sweet dish which is very popular in the Northern states of India. It originally hails from Kashmir. It is a milk dessert which is made with rice paste. A healthy twist added to this phirni recipe is that it is made with jaggery which does not add much calories to your body. The crunch of almonds makes this badam phirni an absolutely delightful treat for your taste-buds.

So, take a look at the recipe of badam phirni and give it a try.
Serves: 3
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Jaggery- 4tbsp (crushed)
- Almonds- 10-15 (crushed)
- Milk- 3 cups
- Rice- 1/4 cup (soaked in water)
- Green cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
- Rose water- 1tsp
Procedure
1. Pour the milk in a deep-bottomed pan and let it boil.
2. Drain the water from the rice and grind it into smooth paste.
3. Add a little boiled milk to the ground rice and mix well.
4. Now add this rice mixture to the boiling milk and stir well.
5. Cook on medium heat till the mixture thickens.
6. Add cardamom powder and the crushed jaggery to the milk. Mix well.
7. Allow the mixture to boil for 5-6 minutes on low flame.
8. Add the almonds to the mixture.
9. Once done, switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
10. Refrigerate and serve in earthen bowls.
