Sponge Cake Recipe - Vegan, Steamed & Low Fat
Preparing vegan sponge cakes is always a problem as the cakes won't be as tasty, soft and fluffy as the sponge cakes with egg. So today we would like to share a vegan sponge cake recipe that is made with no eggs and fat but yet has no compromise on the taste. Take a look at how to go about the delicious vanilla sponge cake recipe.
Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe (vegan sponge cake) -
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup thick sweet curd (yogurt)
2. 2 cups wheat flour
3. 1 tsp baking powder
4. 1/2 tsp baking soda
5. 1/4 cup melted butter
6. 1 tsp vanilla essence
7. 3/4 cup caster sugar
8. Pinch of salt
Vanilla Sponge Cake Preparation:
1. Sieve the wheat flour and combine it with baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2. Add skimmed milk or curd bit by bit and beat the flour well. Also add sugar, vanilla essence and melted butter.
3. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin and steam it in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes. Tasty sponge cake recipe is ready.
Add any icing of choice or even relish the low fat cake with a topping of ice cream.
