One such non-vegetarian recipe that can be prepared easily is a fish cake. A fish cake is generally prepared using filleted fish and mashed potatoes. This tasty fish recipe can be frozen and used later.
Fish Cake Recipe – Healthy Snack Recipe
Ingredients for fish cake recipe:
- Fish – 300 grams (scales and bones removed)
- Potatoes (large) – 2-3 (skin removed)
- Green chillies - 3-4 (or more if you want the fish cake to be spicier)
- Ginger-garlic paste - ' teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - ¼ - ' teaspoon
- Coriander powder - ' teaspoon
- Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
- Breadcrumbs - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves – finely chopped
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
How to prepare tasty fish cake?
- Boil water (add salt) in a large pan. Add roughly chopped potatoes to this water.
- Boil till the potatoes are half cooked.
- Brush the fish with oil, salt and pepper. Wrap this fish with foil and place it in a colander.
- Keep the colander in the boiling water and cook till both the potatoes and fish are well cooked.
- Mash the potatoes and fish. Add the dry spices, finely chopped green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, salt and coriander leaves. Refrigerate this mixture for at least an hour.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions shape them like cutlets. (these can be frozen for later use)
- Dip this into egg and roll it on the breadcrumbs.
- Deep fry till it turns golden brown. Drain off excess oil.
Serve it with spicy pudina chutney and crispy salad.
