Butter Garlic Prawns: Easy Seafood Recipe
It comprises none of the elaborateness you associate with Indian prawn recipes. No matter how easy the seafood recipe, it is very important to remember one basic thing about cooking fried seafood. Use minimum oil (butter in this case) and never overcook seafood. Their flavour is delicate and lost quickly due to over heating.
Ingredients For Butter Garlic Prawns:
1. Prawns 20 (medium sized pieces)
2. Onion 1 (sliced finely)
3. Garlic cloves (minced)
4. Green chillies 3 (chopped finely)
5. Pepper corns 5
6. Ground pepper 1 tablespoon
7. Bay leaf 1
8. Butter 1 tablespoon
9. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
10. Salt as per taste
Procedure For Butter Garlic Prawns:
- Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder for about ten minutes while you chop the vegetables and prepare the spices.
- Melt the butter in a shallow pan and let it crackle before you add the bay leaf and pepper corns.
- After the aroma of the tempering rises to your nostrils add the onions.
- Saute the onions until they turn translucent golden in colour and then add the garlic.
- Stir the garlic for about a minute. Do not overcook the garlic lest it loose its flavour.
- Add the prawns and stir them continuously for 30 seconds until it settles.
- Add ground pepper and chopped green chillies to the prawns and mix well.
- Let it cook on low flame for about 3-4 minutes while you stir occasionally.
Your butter garlic prawns are ready to munch on with cocktails or serve as a dry side dish with noodles.
