Yummy Mutton Paya Recipe
Bored of biryani and mutton gravy? Then you should try out something different this afternoon for lunch! The yummy mutton paya is a famous delicacy in most parts of India. Though mutton paya takes up a lot of time, you will not regret it since it is a dish to die for.
Mutton paya has a lot of Indian spices added to it which enhances the flavour of the meal. This mouth-watering dish can be eaten as a side dish or even as a main dish along with coconut rice or even biryani.
Here is one of the best recipes to follow if you want to prepare mutton paya this afternoon for lunch.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
Paya - 6
Onions - 4 (chopped)
Tomatoes - 2 (sliced)
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tsp
Oil - 4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Procedure
1. You need to first wash the paya well with clear running water. Drain the paya and keep it aside.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat a little oil and wait for it to get hot. When the oil is hot, add in the sliced onions, the ginger and garlic paste and fry these two ingredients well. Fry till the onions turn golden brown.
3. Now add the sliced tomatoes and wait for it to blend in with the onions and the garlic paste. As you fry the tomatoes with the onion and paste, smash the vegetable using a flat spoon.
4. Now, when the tomatoes are cooked, add turmeric, chili, dhania powder and salt. Allow these ingredients to cook well along with the onion and the tomatoes. Let it cook on a low flame for about 5-10 minutes.
5. When cooked, transfer the washed paya and coriander leaves to the pressure cooker and give it a good stir. Let the paya cook for 10 minutes in the ingredients.
6. Now, pour little water into the cooker and give it a deep stir with a flat spoon. The water should cover the contents in the cooker.
7. Allow the water to come to a boil on a low flame.
8. Now, cover the pressure cooker and wait for 7 whistles and then switch off.
Your yummy mutton paya is now ready to eat. You can enjoy this yummy dish along with idly, roti, iddiyappam or even plain rice.
