May this 'festival of sacrifice' (Bakrid) be all the more religious and grand with the tasty mutton shami kebabs. The kababs can be a good start to the feast and taste absolutely authentic (mughlai) for the occasion. The kebabs are spicy starters and tastes best with sauce or chutney. Take a look to know how to go about with the mutton shami kebabs.
Mutton Shami Kebab For Bakrid

Ingredients:
- 500 gms Mutton (minced)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 4-5 Green Chillies (chopped)
- 1 bowl Bengal gram (about 100 gms) soaked for about 6 hours
- 8-9 Garlic pods
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 4 Cardamoms
- 1 long piece Cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 6 Pepper corns
- 4 Red Chillies
- Ghee (clarified Butter)
- Salt as per requirement
How to make shami kabab:
- Cook the minced meat until tender. Grind it into fine paste (without water).
- Also make a thick paste of garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, cardamoms, cinnamon pepper, red chillies, some salt and gram dal (do not add water).
- Add the mutton paste to the gram dal mixture and beaten eggs. Blend well.
- To this add chopped onions and chillies. Make flattened balls and deep fry till golden brown. Delicious mutton shami kebabs are ready to serve.
