Chicken Peshawari: Treat For Ramzan
Ramzan, the month of fast and feast is here. How about some mouthwatering authentic chicken recipe? Try out the delicious recipe of chicken peshawari . You will definitely be delighted after your whole day of fast.
Chicken peshawari is a simple dish which you can prepare without much hassle. The chicken is first marinated with yogurt and some fragrant spices which add a wonderful flavour to this recipe. This authentic delight from Hyderabad is sure to make your taste-buds crave for more.

So, try out chicken peshawari for Ramzan and have a great feast after a hard fast!
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Chicken- 1kg (cut into large pieces)
- Potatoes- 2 (cut into dices)
- Tomatoes- 2 (chopped)
- Yogurt- ½ cup
- Black pepper powder- 2tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1tsp
- Ginger-garlic paste- 2tsp
- Green chillies- 2 (chopped)
- Saffron- a pinch
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Water- 1 cup
Procedure
1. Wash the the chicken pieces thoroughly with water.
2. Mix yogurt, saffron, ginger-garlic paste and salt together in a bowl.
3. Marinate the chicken pieces with this mixture for about 1 hour.
4. After an hour, heat oil in a pan. Add potatoes and fry for about 5 minutes.
5. Add tomatoes, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, green chillies and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
6. Now add the marinated chicken to it and mix well.
7. Cook for about 10 minutes on medium flame.
8. Add salt and water to the pan.
9. Cover the pan with a lid. Cook for about 20 minutes on low flame.
10. Once done, remove the lid and check with a fork if the chicken is completely cooked. Add garam masala and stir well.
11. Switch off the flame and serve.
The delicious Ramzan treat of Peshawari chicken is ready to be served. Enjoy it with fried rice or rotis.
