Chaamp Masala: Eid Special Recipe
After the hard penance during the whole Ramzan month, it is finally the time of festivities and food. As Eid draws near, people have started their preparations for it. And definitely we cannot leave out food. So, here we have a delicious and a perfect recipe which you can try out this Eid.
Chaamp masala is a mouthwatering non vegetarian recipe. You can use any meat of your choice to prepare this recipe. However, it tastes best with beef or mutton. The recipe can be prepared without much hassle and makes an excellent item to be served on the Eid menu.

So, try out chaamp masala at home and have a hearty meal on this festive occasion.
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- Meat (beef or mutton with bones)- 1/2 kg
- Tomatoes- 2 (pureed)
- Onions- 2 (pureed)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 2tbsp
- Red chilly or paprika powder- as per taste
- Yogurt- 1 cup
- Salt- as per taste
- Garam masala powder- 1tbsp
- Shah jeera seeds (black cumin)- 1tbsp
- White vinegar (toddy vinegar)- 1tsp
- Cinammon and clove powder- 1tsp
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Water- 1 cup
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
Procedure
- Wash and clean the meat thoroughly with water.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add shah jeera seeds and fry for a minute on a medium heat.
- Add the pureed onion and tomato. Cook for about 5-7 minutes.
- Then add the ginger-garlic paste. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add yogurt, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala powder, cinnamon and clove powder, lemon juice and white vinegar. And mix well.
- Now add the meat and simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Add water and close the lid of the cooker. Cook on low flame for 3-4 whistles.
- Once done, switch off the flame.
- Garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve chaamp masala with fried rice or rotis.
