Rani & Sushmita In Saree: Durga Puja Spl
The festive season is on and we are all in the mood to dress up. But from where do we get our inspiration to get all dolled up for Durga Puja or Navratri? It is from the celebrities who are spotted during Durga Puja celebrations. We all know that many of our B'Town celebrities are Bengalis and visit the pandals during Navratri. Yesterday, we spotted Rani Mukerji in a red saree in one of the Mumbai Pandals.
Later last night, we also spotted Sushmita Sen in a Bengali saree at Durga Ustav pandal. These two Bong beauties totally nailed it in their traditional style. It is hard to find glitches with someone's fashion sense when they are dressed traditionally for Durga Puja. However, our analysis will ensue because a comparison is inevitable.

Rani Mukerji was in a saree that was flaming red in colour. This was a red and gold chiffon saree. The saree had a thick golden border and some golden embellishments on its body. Rani draped the saree over a purple brocade blouse. The colour contrast was really too loud. She should have gone for a golden blouse instead.

At the Durga Puja pandal, Rani Mukerji also middle parted her hair and pulled it back into a bun. She wore a long pearl necklace and jhumkas with this saree. Here again, we do not agree with her choice of jewellery. Jarao or plain gold jewellery would have complemented this saree much better. Finally, Rani wore the Punjabi chura that a new bride is supposed to wear to complete her look.

Sushmita Sen was in a saree that looked like a traditional Koriyal or the typical Bengali red and white saree. She wore a half sleeved blouse and draped the off-white saree with a red border over it. Sushmita wore stacks of gold bangles on her wrists. Her hair was half pinned and she wore a big red bindi. She looked like a quintessential Bengali woman in this ensemble.

Rani Mukerji in a red saree did look striking but it is Sushmita Sen whose style statement was sound.
